The data in the table are the manufacturer's official product figures. The Uw value refers to the best version available; your own window is also affected by size, glazing and glazing bars, so we write the actual value into the quote.
Not a foil and not a wood effect, but solid laminated timber. It is warm to the touch, and every room sounds different for it. The grain of timber is unique; no two windows will be exactly alike.
The timber is covered by a powder-coated aluminium shell, and that is what takes the rain, the sun and the frost. No painting every ten years and no sanding, while the inside stays timber all the way.
The facade can be anthracite or any RAL colour while the inner face is oak, walnut or any stain. Neither side ties down the other.
This is the most expensive thing we have made. If value for money is the main consideration, let us say it plainly: the Kömmerling PVC line delivers the same thermal insulation for less, and we do not talk anyone into timber-aluminium.
It makes sense where the look of the interior is a consideration in its own right. In a timber-clad living room, in a loft, in an old period flat, a PVC frame stands out and timber does not. This cannot be made good afterwards.
Timber is a living material, so the indoor surface works over time, and after some years a re-coat of stain does it good. This is not a fault but the nature of timber, and it is better to know about it in advance.
In a refurbishment the process is the same as in any window replacement: we take out the old one, we fit the new one, and we give a 5-year guarantee on the installation.

We have them made to measure, so the size of the opening and the quantity are the first factors. The advantage of aluminium is precisely that large structures can be built from it, but the size shows up in the price too.
Triple, safety and acoustic glass carry a surcharge, as does RC2 burglary-resistant hardware. You see each of them on a separate line in the quote.
The powder-coated finish can be ordered in practically the whole RAL range, with a surcharge for special colours. The strip-out and the installation are included, the sill is a separate item. Scaffolding is rarely needed, only where the height calls for it.
