Shutters do not only mean the classic outward-opening leaf. The opening type decides how much room they need on the wall, and whether they can be motorised at all.
The classic version: the panels open outwards and are moved by hand. On an old or Mediterranean facade this is the authentic look. Open, they take up space on the wall, so free surface is needed beside them.
The panels fold onto each other, so open they take up far less room than the side-hung version. For a wide opening this is the right direction.
The panels slide sideways on a track with top-hung rollers, and this version can also be motorised. It can be used on a terrace, a balcony, a French balcony, an access balcony and to close the side of a conservatory.
Every opening type can be ordered with fixed or adjustable slats. With adjustable slats you control the light even behind a closed panel, rather than just shutting it out.
The rigid frame does not have to take slats: a fabric-covered, a louvred or a fully closed, shutter-like version can also be chosen.
The advantage of the system is that it can cover a large area too. That is why we use it not only on family houses but also on the facades of blocks of flats and office buildings.
The panels go in front of the window, fixed to the facade with an additional supporting structure. They are available in aluminium and in timber: aluminium does not warp and needs no painting, while timber is more authentic on an old facade.
The colour of the shutters is not only a question of looks: it also determines the manufacturing time. So it is worth deciding at the planning stage.

We manufacture to measure, so the size of the opening and the quantity are the first factors. With several items the unit price is usually more favourable.
There is a real difference between manual and motorised operation, and the choice of material matters too. We can write out both in the quote so that you see it in forints.
Fitting it later means a separate call-out and separate making good. On a high-mounted structure scaffolding is occasionally needed too, but that only comes up a few times a year. If it is done in the same visit as the window replacement, most of this falls away.
