We list them separately so that you only pay for what you really need. If you take the rubble away yourself, or your decorator makes good the reveal, that is your decision and it does not appear in the quote.

Where the responsibility is not split

In a window replacement most disputes arise at the handover points: the manufacturer points at the sizes, the fitter at the manufacturer. If the work sits in one place from the survey to the installation, that circle does not start.

What most people ask

How long does the installation take?

One to two days in an average flat, depending on the number of openings and on access. We give you the exact time after the survey.

Do you take out the old one?

Yes, the strip-out is included in the installation price. Taking away the rubble is a separate item, and that is your call.

Does it need a permit?

A like-for-like replacement is usually not subject to permit. In a block of flats the consent of the building manager and the constraints on the facade can matter, and if you enlarge the opening we will tell you, because that is a different question.

How much mess will there be?

It involves stripping out, so dust is created. We cover the work area and clean up afterwards, but taking the rubble away is a separate item.
