There is an order-of-magnitude difference between an external-box roller shutter and a bioclimatic pergola. So the first step is not the price but working out which solution suits the situation. We go through this at the survey.
We have them made to measure. Motorised operation and automation, wind and light sensors, carry a surcharge compared with the manual version, but in return they are considerably more convenient on a large or high-mounted structure.

External shading catches the sunlight before the glass, so the heat does not even get in. An internal venetian blind or roller blind catches the heat once it is already inside the room, so it helps appreciably less with summer cooling, even if it controls the light well.
If summer overheating is the main problem, an external solution is needed. If it is light and privacy, then an internal one may be enough, and it is cheaper.
In a refurbishment it is worth looking at this together with window and door replacement, because the reveal will be disturbed anyway. If you are also replacing the front door now, everything goes into one quote.
