With external venetian blinds too, the first question is the installation method, not the slat. If the window is already in place, only one of the three solutions is possible, so it is worth settling this first.
The box sits flush with the outer wall face and does not touch the window, so the masonry behind the frame stays full width: no thermal bridge. It has a special ability too: the top third of the slats can be moved on its own, so the lower two thirds shade while light still comes in from above.
Operation: Manual (guide rail, cord or bracket)
The box sits above the window frame, directly under the lintel, insulated from the inside, in a thermal-bridge-free version. Most often it is made with a concealed, plasterable box. An insect screen can be fitted alongside, and the slats are available in 330 colours.

The box sits in front of the window frame, connected to the frame extension or the lintel, and the insulation behind the frame provides the thermal-bridge-free construction. It can be ordered with a concealed or a visible box, in a square or a rounded version. With curved slats, full blackout is also achievable.

Once it is installed, the shape of the slat is the second decision. There are three shapes to choose from, and this is not only about looks: blackout and wind resistance depend on it too.
A UV-stable PVC rubber insert runs along the lower half of every slat. This makes the closing tighter, and the slats do not rattle when they meet.
The slats are made of lacquered, surface-treated aluminium, so they do not fade and are easy to clean.

An aluminium guide rail, a bowden tensioning cable, or the two together. Today's trend is the self-supporting rail version, which gives the cleanest look.
A manual gimbal crank handle or a motor. The manual version is cheaper, while the motorised one is considerably more convenient on a large or high-mounted structure.
A wind, light and rain sensor can be connected to the motorised version, and it can be built into a smart home system. That way it works even when you are not at home.
The amount of light coming in can be finely adjusted with the tilt angle of the slats. This is the main difference compared with a roller shutter: not dark or light, but anywhere in between.
External shading, so it stops the sunlight before the glass. An internal venetian blind catches the heat once it is already inside the room, so it helps less with cooling.
The motorised version can be controlled by remote and from your phone, and it can be connected to a wind or sunlight sensor that lowers or raises it by itself.

There is a real difference between manual and motorised operation, and the choice of material matters too. We can write out both in the quote so that you see it in forints.
Fitting it later means a separate call-out and separate making good. On a high-mounted structure scaffolding is occasionally needed too, but that only comes up a few times a year. If it is done in the same visit as the window replacement, most of this falls away.
