Aluminium outside, PVC inside. The facade gets a metal look, the structure stays PVC, and the price is between the two: more than plain PVC, but appreciably less than full aluminium.
An aluminium cover shell goes onto the outer face of the PVC profile. This is not paint and not foil but a separate component that clips onto the profile.
From the outside you see an aluminium window: sharp edges, a metal surface, any colour. Inside, though, the PVC profile does the work, with its own thermal insulation.
In price it also sits between the two: the aluminium shell is a surcharge on a plain PVC window, while a full aluminium window is significantly more expensive than this. For most residential buildings this is therefore the sensible choice.
The system can be ordered on the Kömmerling 76 and the Kömmerling 88 profile alike, so you decide on the thermal insulation and on the cover shell separately. If a full metal structure is the aim, that is the aluminium window; if you want timber inside, then it is timber-aluminium.
When you replace a window the installation runs the same way: we take out the old one, we fit the new one, and we give a 5-year guarantee on the installation. We fit shading in the same visit.
The aluminium shell can be ordered in practically any colour; the foil range is no constraint. Stainless-steel effect, light blue, anthracite: all of them are possible.
On the AluClip Pro version the sash and the frame lie in one plane on the outside, with no protruding sash edge. With the window closed you see a single continuous surface, which gives a far calmer facade.
It is the aluminium that resists the sun and the weather, not the PVC surface. On a south-facing facade this shows up in the service life.
The cover shell carries a surcharge compared with plain PVC, but it is considerably cheaper than a full aluminium window. You get the same look on the facade, for less.
